Tryline Watchalong 14 - London vs Canberra

This week's watchalong took us to one of the highlights from the much maligned 1997 World Club Championship. From a British (or European, as it was) perspective, this tournament provided few highlights. An exception was when Canberra Raiders travelled to London.

Here is the best of the action! Before we begin, we apologies for the lack of sound in the clips!

Team News
We wouldn't usually post the teams in this blog...but we must make an exception here, because of the star-studded nature of the teams!
What a start!
It was a disastrous start for London! They suffered an early sin-binning and conceded THREE tries!

Turnaround!
London needed some inspiration and quickly. Shaun Edwards was introduced from the bench to provide a spark, but it was Terry Matterson who led the revival!

London had a chance to go into half time with a lead but missed a kickable penalty. However, Laurie Daley's yellow card presented London with an opportunity at the start of the second half!

More of the same!
London were rampant as the second half continued. They scored 36 unanswered points to blow Canberra away!

Scant Consolation!
Canberra got the game's final score, but it proved little consolation!
London though had the last say with a penalty kick!

With Super League's return due at the start of August, our watchalong series will soon cease and we can get back to live action! There are still a couple more classic matches to squeeze in before then though!
