Tryline Watchalong 13
This week's watchalong featured the 2012 World Club Challenge between Leeds and Manly. It was a repeat of the brutal 2009 match where Manly came out on top. I have not seen the 2012 game back since then and had forgotten how much of a gripping encounter it was.
A Tense Opening
Leeds slightly edged the opening quarter of the game, but could not break down the Manly defence. That was until Brent Webb and Kallum Watkins combined.
TRY LEEDS🏉

If you watch the start of this clip, you might think it would be Manly who would draw level. Not quite!
TRY LEEDS!
Interception from Ryan Hall! It looked for all money as though Manly were going to pull level, but the last pass was picked off and Leeds open a two-score gap!

Half Time
Shortly after, Manly got the try that they deserved and it looked to be heading into the break at 12-6.

But Leeds struck again before half time to re-establish their two score lead.

This game has exploded into life! A pinpoint perfect kick from Sinfield is plucked out of the sky by Ryan Hall. His second of the night. Leeds extend the gap to 10 points!

The Siege
Manly laid siege to the Leeds line at the start of the second half and Cherry-Evans eventually caused the dam to burst.
TRY MANLY🏉
The run from Tony Williams got them in position. From the next play, Cherry-Evans dummies, goes low and gets to the line. Manly are back in the match!

The pressure continued and Manly crossed again, but it was disallowed for an off-the-ball push.
NO TRY MANLY❌
Incessant pressure by Manly and Matai grounds from the high kick! It’s checked by the video referee, who correctly identifies a push by Stewart on Watkins!
Leeds survive!

Gamebreaker
The two sides continued to go at it, looking for the winning try. It eventually came on the 75th minute, through Ben Jones Bishop.
TRY LEEDS 🏉
This titanic battle has been settled now surely! Leeds move the ball through hands, @BenJonesBishop is the man on the overlap who crosses to seal it!
