Tryline Watchalong 13

This week's watchalong featured the 2012 World Club Challenge between Leeds and Manly. It was a repeat of the brutal 2009 match where Manly came out on top. I have not seen the 2012 game back since then and had forgotten how much of a gripping encounter it was.

A Tense Opening
Leeds slightly edged the opening quarter of the game, but could not break down the Manly defence. That was until Brent Webb and Kallum Watkins combined.
If you watch the start of this clip, you might think it would be Manly who would draw level. Not quite!
Half Time
Shortly after, Manly got the try that they deserved and it looked to be heading into the break at 12-6.
But Leeds struck again before half time to re-establish their two score lead.
The Siege
Manly laid siege to the Leeds line at the start of the second half and Cherry-Evans eventually caused the dam to burst.
The pressure continued and Manly crossed again, but it was disallowed for an off-the-ball push.
Gamebreaker
The two sides continued to go at it, looking for the winning try. It eventually came on the 75th minute, through Ben Jones Bishop.
In the closing stages of the game, Leeds made it safe!
Trophy Lift
This is the reason that the players play the game, to lift a major trophy in front of your fans!
